Frequently Asked Questions

Firstly, thank you for considering me as your DJ for your event!

Once we agree on the price, a deposit is required to secure the date (about 30% of the overall fee). When I receive the deposit your event date will be locked in. Final payment will occur on the week of the event or on the day of the event, whichever is agreed upon.

Weddings

A few months out from your event I will send a Reception Assist Sheet that you will be required to fill in and send back by the Monday on the week of the event. The form consists of titles - bridal entry, background music, cake, first dance, dancing music, bouquet, garter, leaving song, do not play etc.

Once the form is filled out, I am happy to chat with the couple via a phone call, at a cafe or via zoom, to answer any questions about the night and/or assist with any song choices. I also take song requests on the night (if the bride and groom allow it). My main goal is to ensure the bride and groom are happy and enjoying their night.

Events – Birthdays, Engagements, Formals etc

I recommend compiling a list of song requests and sending them to me via email as a word document or Spotify playlist in order for me to gauge the vibe/genres I am required to play. I also take song requests on the night.

Of course! I can play any traditional/cultural songs that you would like. Just let me know prior to the event to ensure I have the correct version of the song.

I can play alongside various performers including duos, bands, saxophonists and percussionists, to name a few. When working at a wedding reception with a band/duo, usually the night is split into sets, so the band/duo would play 3x 45 minute sets during the first few hours of background music and I will play during dancing. Some bands also play a couple dancing sets, if so, I will play in between their sets.

I am very flexible with how and when I am required to play on the night and am happy to work with your live performers.
